General Care Instructions.
Do not place timber furniture outside unless it is specifically designed for this.
Avoid placing furniture directly under an air conditioning vent or close to a heating source. Prolonged exposure to either may dry the timber and potentially cause shrinkage or warping.
Avoid placing furniture near a source of moisture. Prolonged exposure to moisture may cause the timber to warp and distort.
Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to UV rays may excessively age and discolour the timber and finishes.
Do not use any cleaning chemicals or solvents to clean your item. A lightly dampened cloth should be used to remove any unwanted spills or dirt.
Avoid prolonged contact with metal objects, particulalry untreated steel. Chemicals in some metals can cause the timber to stain.
For tabletops and other high-wear surfaces we reccomend semi-regular application of a good quality furniture wax.
Do not drag your furniture item, always lift the item when moving to a new location and remember to bend your knees.
And finally, even if it’s “Africa” by Toto, please refrain from dancing on the furniture. I might be impressed, but the joinery won’t.
Why use Hardwax oils.
